Deanne Lachner has been editing for about ten years, and has worked for a publishing house and an advertising
agency in Dallas. She taught public middle school and high school English classes for eight years and junior
college English for two years. In addition, she taught career (resume/portfolio/group dynamics) classes at ITT
Tech and KD Studio in Dallas for two years.
Ms. Lachner has published many articles ("Young Company Profiles" and travel articles) in Direct Selling News
and Empowering Women, as well as short pieces about the publishing industry for Performance Magazine. She has
ghostwritten a financial-planning book for a major Dallas radio-station host (yet to be published) and has edited
and/or proofread over 30 other fiction and nonfiction books.
Her favorite "fun" books are anything with a bit of mystery, especially books with courtroom drama and crime scene
investigation details. She enjoys all of the books she used to share with her AP seniors. The book that really
changed the way she thinks is Ishmael by Daniel Quinn, whom she has met and finds to be absolutely fascinating.
