The Information We Collect

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the Papercheck website. On some pages, you can order services, make requests, and register to receive materials. The types of personally identifiable information collected on these pages are:

  • Phone Number
  • Credit/Debit Card Information

On some pages, you can submit information about other people. For example, if you believe Papercheck’s editing and proofreading services would be useful to a friend, you can elect to send our general information to that person via email. Your friend may contact us to request that we remove this information from our database. In this circumstance, the types of personally identifiable information collected are:

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you wish to cancel your account or request that we no longer use your information to provide you services, contact us. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

For example, if you purchase our editing service but do not wish to receive any additional marketing materials from us, you can indicate your preference in your account profile.

The Way We Use Information

We will share your personal information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy policy. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

We use the information you provide about yourself when placing an order only to complete that order, fulfill the requested services, and send communications related to our service if you register (for example, we may send a “thank you” package for your patronage or provide a newsletter). We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete that order. Typically, we share with our editors only the information that is necessary for them to proofread your documents.

We use the information you provide about other people when we send information to them. For example, in our “referral” function, we will ask you for your friend’s name and email address. We store this information to track the success of the referrals and send a one-time invitation. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to provide the requested information. We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties. Your friend may contact us to request that we remove this information from our database.

Technologies such as cookies, beacons, tags, and scripts are used by Papercheck and our analytics service providers. These technologies are used in analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movements around the site, and gathering demographic information about our user base as a whole. We may receive reports based on the use of these technologies by these companies on an individual as well as aggregated basis.

We use cookies to remember users’ settings and authentication. Users can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level. If you reject cookies, you may still use our site, but your ability to use some features or areas of our site may be limited.

Like most standard website servers, we use log files. Service Providers

We use and PayPal’s PayFlow Pro to provide credit card processing on our website. When you sign up for editing services, we will share billing information as necessary for the third party to provide that service. These companies are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide these services to us.

Social Media Widgets

Our website includes social media features, such as the Facebook button, and widgets, such as the “Share this” button and interactive mini-programs that run on our site. All information sent to in an SSL session is encrypted, protecting against disclosure to third parties. We use this procedure to better safeguard your information.

You can correct or delete factual errors in your personally identifiable information by sending us a request that credibly shows error through any of our contact details below. You can also update, correct, or delete any of your personally identifiable information on your account by going to your “user profile.” We will respond to your request to access within 30 days.
