Tara was born in Virginia, which is where her heart remains. She has always had an interest in human behavior, particularly what motivates people to act. After obtaining her bachelor’s of science degree in psychology, Tara began pursuing her passion at the graduate level by working with individuals, couples, and families as a family therapist and researcher. Through these experiences, she became acutely aware of the importance of language. In addition to her work at Papercheck, Tara has worked as an editing intern for a leading peer-reviewed journal in the field of marriage and family therapy. As a member of a research team for over six years, Tara currently has several manuscripts under review and in press in peer-reviewed journals. Before becoming an editor, she taught and mentored undergraduate and graduate students at Florida State University and Ohio State University for over 4 years. Her interests include going to movies, listening to live music, and, of course, cheering on the FSU Seminoles!
