Tara was born in Virginia, which is where her heart remains. She has always had an interest in human behavior, particularly what motivates people to act. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Tara began pursuing her passion at the graduate level by working with individuals, couples, and families as a family therapist and researcher. Through these experiences, she became acutely aware of the importance of language for individuals. As a member of a research team for over four years, Tara currently has several manuscripts under review by peer-reviewed journals, with one paper in press.
Before becoming an editor, she taught and mentored undergraduate students at Florida State University for 2 ½ years. During the past year and a half, in addition to her work at Papercheck, Tara has worked as Virtual Intern for a leading peer-reviewed journal in the field of marriage and family therapy. Her interests include going to movies, listening to live music, and, of course, cheering on the FSU Seminoles!
