Diana was born in Findlay, Ohio and raised in Upstate New York, but she has lived in North Carolina for three years. She has always had an interest in both science (particularly math and astronomy) and literature/languages, but when forced to choose between the two, she decided to pursue studies and employment in literature and languages. She can read, speak, and write (listed in order of proficiency) French and Italian and has recently developed an interest in Asian languages, particularly Japanese and Korean. Before becoming an editor, she tutored undergraduate students in math, physics, and English. During the past four years, she has worked as an editor, including not only her work at Papercheck, but also a brief stint copyediting at a scholarly journal and a yearlong project formatting endnotes for a professor. She writes poetry and short stories, and she is currently teaching herself Korean.
