Teaching and Editing Experience:

  • Nina was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. She received a National Merit Scholarship to attend the University of Arizona, where she worked as copy chief of the Arizona Daily Wildcat and contributed as a reporter and photographer. There she was awarded the informal title “America’s Next Top Copy Editor” in recognition of her meticulous attention to detail and positive contributions to the newsroom environment. She graduated summa cum laude with honors and received the William Hattich Award for Journalism Professionalism. Before joining Papercheck, she taught history and social studies in public schools for three years. She also interned as a copy editor at the Tucson Citizen and a programming assistant at 826LA West.
  • Nina enjoys helping clients achieve clarity through precise, economical writing. As a certified history teacher, she is particularly qualified to edit academic content in the arts and humanities. She is also an authority on the APA Publication Manual (6th edition) and AP Stylebook.
